SMART+ Summer Program is a six-week program that will incorporate outdoor adventures, local field trips, S.T.E.A.M lessons and a mentorship program with our Man The Bay fellows!
Tree Frog Treks
Tree Frog Treks’ award-winning program is one of the best ways to enjoy summer sun and have fun outside in San Francisco. Campers will spend every day hiking with our expert team of naturalists, exploring science and nature, art and music, and making new friends. Our programming includes wild science experiments and live animal encounters with our collection of rescued reptiles, amphibians and more.
BVCC 2024 Summer Camp
BVCC provides a seven-week fun filled academic and enrichment program for children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. We are excited and looking forward to seeing our former and new campers this summer!!!!
We are preparing a fun filled summer with many activities that will promote math and literacy through project-based learning. The activities include art, science, dance, cooking, sports and field trips. These activities are intentionally structured with supporting the social and emotional wellness of all students.
BVCC 2024 Spanish Immersion Summer Camp
The Buena Vista Spanish Immersion Summer Camp is a Bay Area based program dedicated to giving kids a fun and enriching summer experience to remember - in Spanish! We have an amazing team with extensive experience in childcare and summer camps, as well as a rich knowledge of both Spanish language and culture. Our program is designed and directed by teachers credentialed in dual immersion education in order to provide campers with the educational foundations they need to enrich their fluency in Spanish.

Queer Lifespace’s Outlandish! Program
The program aims to bring LGBTQIA+ youth out into nature for day-long hikes and other activities. The participants, accompanied by qualified adults, will be immersed in the natural world where they can learn about themselves and the complex ecosystems around them.

Free School and Sports Physicals
SF Department of Public Health’s Community Health Programs for Youth (CHPY) is open for school physicals and sports physicals for youth ages 12-25. These services are offered at no charge to the student or family. Please call to make an appointment.

BAYCAT Academy Filmmaking Classes
If you're a San Francisco resident 11-17 years old interested in filmmaking, BAYCAT Academy is the place for you! We offer FREE year-round classes for both emerging and experienced creatives. During our Intro to Filmmaking course, emerging filmmakers will learn the basics of storytelling and editing by working with professional gear and software. And during our paid Advanced Filmmaking internship, experienced filmmakers will expand their skills by collaborating with real clients.
23-24 Powerhouse Youth Arts Programs
From September 2023 to May 2024, the Performing Arts Workshop will host free drop-in classes for youth ages 10-18 at the Geneva Powerhouse, (2301 San Jose Avenue)
Free Rides to the Redwoods
Save the Redwoods League is offering San Francisco families and community groups free rides to redwood parks in the Bay Area! Trips are offered two Saturdays per month, and visits can be arranged to Muir Woods National Monument, Samuel P. Taylor State Park, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, and more! If you are interested in joining a trip or setting up a trip for your group, please contact Leslie Parra.
Volunteer at Presidio National Park
Presidio National Park hosts lots of opportunities to get out in one of the most beautiful places in San Francisco and volunteer! Students can explore their passions and interests, nonprofits can recruit and advertise the opportunities they offer, and school staff can refer students to find any enrichment opportunities
KQED Youth Media Challenge
Youth Media Challenges ask students to explore how they see themselves, share their view of the world, or envision a better future. All challenges come with ready-to-use curriculum and every student submission is published on the KQED Youth Media Showcase. Select submissions will be aired on KQED broadcasts and shared with PBS and NPR member stations around the country.
Attendance Awareness Month Poster Contest
All SFUSD students from Pre-K to 12th grade are invited to participate in SFUSD’s Attendance Awareness Month Poster Contest! Attendance Awareness Month is celebrated in September to highlight the importance of regular attendance for learning and achievement. SFUSD encourage students to share their perspective on the importance of attendance. Use your creativity to show what makes your school a special, diverse and inclusive place for all!
